Honeywell Instant Alert System

Dear Parent/Guardian,

At this point we have utilized our Honeywell Instant Alert System with tremendous effectiveness and timely communication for a variety of purposes. Please accept this note as a thank you for your support of the system.  Your individual profile registry is why I am communicating.

As we continue to use the system, we will be leveraging on it more and more, not just get out information but also to replace traditional “backpack” and postage type communications.  Therefore, it is important that your e-mail address and preferred method of contacts are entered into the system.  That way you will receive the type of communication you want and need based on the alert.   That is to say, if you do not want to receive a phone message about an upcoming school event or a letter from the Superintendent about various topics, you can go into your settings and change that.

Typically, items that are sent out as ‘general’ or ‘school information’ are things that are not urgent in terms of your need to be connected with the information.  For example, we recently utilized the system to identify a closing date for registration for a youth recreation sport.  Many of you may not want to receive that type of information on your home phone, cell phone or work phone.  Thus, it may be more convenient for you to set your school information and general settings to receive only text or e-mail communication for those alert types.  Of course, this is totally up to you and you can keep your settings as you prefer.

However, it is important to note that the system will be used more and more as a replacement for items that historically have been sent home in hard copy either through the mail or through student backpacks.

Thank you for your continued support.
